Version 8

El Cantador = The Singer
We each have a song to sing.

Mobile, Alabama’s El Cantador has been churning out tunes since 2007. The band’s core consists of songwriter and guitar player Heath Underwood, Sean Murphy (drums), and Alex Scharr (bass/vocals/keys). The band has self released two EPs, a festival winning music video, a live disc, a Split EP with Pensacola, FL based band Johnny Apple-Eyes, and in 2011 their first full-length album “Fools For Light” on their own independent label Friends Fight Records. Recent festivals include the Hangout Beach and Music Festival (2010), Bayfest (2009), and Next Big Nashville (2009). The sounds they make have been compared to Pavement, Broken Social Scene, and Wilco, but El Cantador is ever evolving and their sound remains distinctly their own.
