Great track! I called "Berlin" only "Birnopolis" since those days of delirium (hooligans destroying the quadriga of the "Brandenburger Tor", Sale Party of GDR etc.

Haha, I think that's one of the best parts of the whole album! Then again, I did read along in the lyric booklet as I listened to Silence Is Sexy for the first time, and the lyrics to this song are stunning. That made me want to like it more, and the "melancholia..." line doesn't seem out-of-place in context.

I was quite negative towards Silence Is Sexy in general (still think it's their weakest album) and this song just frustrated me, especially the part "mela, mela, mela, mela, melancholia melancholia, mon cher", I thought that is is so out of place and ridiculous. Then I heard the instrumental version and decided to give this one a chance. Payed more attention to the lyrics and everything clicked into place. Such emotion and melancholy... And now it's one of my favorite songs from their second period.

Detest? That's quite the negative emotion. While I never disliked this song, I also didn't particularly like it. For a while, anyway - somehow its brilliance sort of crept up on me and now it's one of my favorite songs (not only of EN, but in general). I don't think I'll ever tire of listening to it.

the greatest band ever , I saw them so so so many times and every new gig was big difference and every gig was good and pefect in his own way, this is music without any age ,it is more art than sound-or both together.........like you want to hear ; like you want to listen ;like you want to love andthere are only two ways for E.N. you love it or you hate it from the first moment...
