Eddie Cotton, Jr. is an electric blues guitarist from Clinton, Mississippi. Cotton’s musical background includes formal musical training at Jackson State University and lessons from Jackson-area bluesman King Edward Antoine. The son of a minister, Cotton also served as minister of music at his father’s church.

Eddie Cotton was chosen to portray Robert Johnson in a short film by Los Angeles filmmaker, Glen Marzano, about the legendary guitarist. Cotton was also featured in a Mississippi tourism commercial in the late 1990s, alongside Clarksdale’s “Blues Barber,” Wade Walton, to promote the state’s cultural and musical heritage.

Cotton’s 2000 live album is entitled “Eddie Cotton: Live at the Alamo Theater.” He was voted second “best blues artist” in the 2009 “Best of Jackson” issue of the Jackson Free Press.
