On November 6th, 2007 Kiite Records released for world-wide distribution Eccotonic’s debut CD “Flow Motion”, available on CDBaby.com, Amazon.com and iTunes, as well as through numerous other music outlets. This is a downtempo/lounge/chill-out electronica studio project by LA-based film composer and recording artist Cato. Mixing an eclectic palette of organic and electronic sounds, the music of Eccotonic represents the culmination of a body of work by Cato and his collaborators that spreads over the past several years. It is also a natural extension of his film scoring work, including the track “Cache” that incorporates musical elements from the award-winning film of the same name.

Cato’s collaborations with other musicians, most notably singer/songwriter Jenny Campmany, are usually heavily edited, warped, sometimes distorted and otherwise treated through his constantly evolving sonic signatures. These have already made Cato a sought-after creator of music for visual media, having resulted in many scores for award-winning feature films, documentaries, commercials and video games, including the opening music for “Smokin’ Aces” (Universal, 2007), the score for “Semper Fi: One Marine’s Journey” (Showtime, 2007) and the score for the Kevin Spacey production “Mini’s First Time” (HBO, 2006).

The music of Eccotonic has already been selected for CD-compilations (Pacha Ibiza’s “Roof Terrace Vibe Vol. III”), licensed to network television (CBS/Paramount’s “Girlfriends” on UPN), selected to nationally promote the 2009 Ford Focus on its U.S. launch, and played on famed, Santa Monica, California-based radio station KCRW by Chris Douridas.

    In late 2011 Cato (a.k.a. Eccotonic) was asked to write an ambient leaning opening track for the main theatrical trailer for their film "The Iron Lady", starring Meryl Streep (who recently won the Golden Globe™ for Best Actress, and is nominated for a Best Actress Oscar™). The trailer has subsequently been viewed over 500,000 times on YouTube and many have asked about Cato's opening track. On February 28th Cato's label Kiite Records will release "They Told Me It Could Not Be Done" as a digital only release available through most leading digital music stores.
