EZO or E・Z・O (earlier known as Flatbacker; Flatbacker style is heavier, faster and less melodic than EZO’s) is a legendary Japanese hard’n’heavy band that played something between hard rock, heavy/speed metal and hair/glam rock. Members: Masaki Yamada (v), Hirotsugu Homma (d), Shoyo Iida (g) and Taro Takahashi (b). Masaki and Hiro have played in Loudness some time ago. Hiro is now member of heavy metal band called Anthem. Gene Simmons of the band KISS was instrumental in bringing this band to notice in the USA and beyond.

    These cats were great,,, commercial yet edgy and heavy at the same time...saw them open up for GNR and it was great show with the exception of a glitch with Shoyo guitar amps, that had Massaki having to kill time rapping to the audience with not too much English...pulled it off though and the show went on...

    As far as bands went they were invincible. Very easily one of the top 5 metal bands ever. Every song they had was a musical masterpiece. They were more LA sounding then the actual LA bands at the time. I can't praise them enough.

The album is called "My Wish Is Your Command" and features Chris Slade of AC/DC on the drums, Sean Lee on guitar and Bjorn Englen of Yngwie Malmsteen on bass!!     no, they are right ... this band was indeed "awesome" and THEN some, to be sure! Aside from the guitarwork, I could easily rank EZO's songwriting as being up there with Loudness (another great japanese metal band!!!)
