Duncan Parsons started out on the drums in the mid 80s, taking the likes of Bill Bruford, Simon Phillips, Barriemore Barlow, Dave Mattacks and Bob Siebenberg as major influences. He is self taught, apart from a lesson from Bill Bruford (which he would apparently be glad to have again!)

With a major lean towards jazz and the more melodic end of progressive rock, his musical career has followed a number of different paths. Between 1992 and 1997, he appeared on a number of obscure albums (with Paley’s Watch (see here), Marc Catley and the Flaming Methodists, Sound, and others), often creditted with composition and production as well as more percussive elements. He also appears to provide guitars and mandolins, vocals, keys and ‘cosmic dentistry’ when needed…

Over the years, compositional and live appearances have been with anyone who would take him - Shows, folk, funk, jazz, rock, orchestral, theatrical composition and performance, music for radio and video… He is happily in a band led by Trefor Jones (Trefor Jones website), playing Dylan/Cash styled Country-Folk-Rock.

Currently, his own output is all self produced, and continues to demonstrate his passion for melodic prog (cf Gentle Giant, Yes, UK) tinged with Jazz, minimalism, new wave, rock and (dare it be said) pop.
