Drum Circle

Magic Theatre is the First and Only Album by the Swiss Psychedelic Band Drum Circus.
Legendary Drummer Peter Giger decided to assemble a Band, but it was no ordinary Band. The Band was named Drum Circus, not because the Founder played the Drums, but because apart from Peter Giger there were two other Drummers on the Line-Up, Marc Hellman and Alex Bally. Two of the songs were written by the one and only, Timothy Leary, the LSD Guru, all the songs of course were inspired in the Buddhist Book Of The Dead ( A Book extremely influential in the subculture of the time, even though the other LSD Group, The Merry Pranksters, led by Kesey, did not pay as much attention to it as Leary’s Group). Two of the musicians come from the Band Brainticket, Joel Vandroogenbroeck and Carole Muriel, which led Drum Circus to be kind of influenced by the same Band. The Sound of Drum Circus is filled with Eastern Instruments. Sitars are as much a part of the Band as the Guitars. A lot of parts of the Album are also not very close to Rock, but reaching almost an Acid Jazz sonority, very rich, with a great Horns section. The two guys in the cover are Peter Giger himself on the Drums of course and Joel Vandroogenbroeck playing the Flute in a Grass Field.
