1. The Drum Brothers were born in 2005, when 3 french hip-hop beatmakers (Arshitect, Guan Jay & PermOne) influenced with the same musical roots (mainly jazz, soul, funk…) decided to work together.
On the same year, they released their first remix album, The Fresh Touch, available for free on the web. (http://www.drumbrothers.net)
A few weeks later, the Drum Brothers launched themselves into a more ambitious project: making their own album, featuring worldwide guests.
The 3 producers worked with musicians and emcees from Sweden, Canada, USA and France. A few names: the French soul singer Dajla, Elodie Rama, the mc Melodiq from Pittsburgh, Justis, Blezz or the djs Greem (Hocus Pocus), Pfel & Atom (Beat Torrent), from the 5 times world champion dj crew C2C. Following this collaboration, Atom became the 4th Drum Brother, mainly as a dj and sound engineer.
In 2008, the album entitled “Live & Uncut” is finally ready, and will be released on Kif Records (Jazz Liberatorz, Birdy Nam Nam, Big Red, Melomaniac…), as well as this first 12inch.
2. Drum Brothers (US) : In the late 1980’s, Matthew and his brother Patrick Marsolek were inspired by the rhythmic music created during evening circles at the Feathered Pipe Ranch, an educational center west of Helena, Montana.
Patrick began making drums for himself, but the instruments were so popular with the Feathered Pipe’s guests that they all were purchased immediately. Matthew soon joined him in this new entrepreneurial effort and the two set up shop in the Ranch’s garage.
