Providence RI, United States (1990 – present)

Dropdead is an American band formed in 1990 in Providence, Rhode Island. Members of Dropdead also play/played in Snake Apartment, I, Destroyer, Battlesnake, Straight To Hell, Ulcer, Monster X, The Fucking Fuzz, Lolita Black. The band has been active in the punk scene since the early nineties. The guitarist, Ben, runs a Providence record store called Armageddon Shop, along with its record label Armageddon Label. Dropdead has proven highly influential to modern strains of hardcore, having staid true to its DIY and animal rights ethics. The band’s songs are generally short and extremely fast-paced, with few of their songs lasting longer than one minute.

    Converge??? i didn't even know they had a split (do they really made a split togheter?)..btw,in my opinion Converge are just ok..i like some of their stuff,some is even really good,but lot of what they did sounds a bit boring to me and i've never listened to them that much btw.....but Dropdead...i listen to them from at least 8 years now and never got tired,they're one of the bands that changed my life about both,musical tastes (they introduced me to grindcore and powerviolence) and attitute (songs as "at the cost of an animal" were in my mind when i got vegetarian and then,years later,when i got vegan)..their lyrics and noise are still so good,live they're great..so,i think u got who i prefer ;) ps: if this is a competiton,well i think it's stupid since they're pretty different bands,not really comparable,listenable for different motivation and approaches..

    converge beneath them.. both the converge and dropdead stuff sucks, i want to say especially dropdead actually, and the difference with the bane and crossed out split and this is that crossed out is powerviolence, dropdead isn't ON THIS RECORD.. listen to older converge you might change your mind
