About this album

Drew Stevyns - Please Excuse The Machine

I believe in the purity of music, in how it is organically written and how it is presented to listeners. Music has to be honest. It has to be based on what the writer feels or has experienced in their own life, otherwise it is a lie. It is imperative that I provide a song or performance that is emotionally connected to my audience. It is my goal that the music I produce relates to listeners through their own unique experiences and circumstances. It is necessary the music I provide allows a deep feeling within a listener’s soul outside of what the industry standard has provided as the social-norm of music today.

Music cannot be compromised for financial gain. Music must be a representation of one’s self. Music has to be first, image and perception come second. Mankind is fallible, music is not.

I am a songwriter first, a singer second, a musician third, and whatever you believe I am fourth.

The music is better than me. The music is everything I want to be.
