LISTENING to this song and some peoples comments i have to reply with : 1. Misplaced solo? Maybe so but something needed to go there and i think with the options they had that was the best and only alternate logic to put there. 2NDLY THESE WERE THE BEST OF TIMES AND THANK YOU FOR MY LIFE. I don't think that was meant as selfish and many people think. I think he means thankyou in gratefulness of how his father shaped him and taught him. Finally reminds me of the best of times with my own granddad, the lyric about getting the call makes me tearful cos thats how me and my family got the call of my granddad dieing!
