The Drahomira Institute was founded 10 years ago, by French former cinema students Julien Pacaud and Jean-Christophe Sanchez, back from a journey to Karlovy Vary, where they presented their first collaborative movie. Since then, several artistic fields have been explored by the Drahomira Institute, such as graphic design, painting, literature, music and, of course, cinema.

The Drahomira Song Orchestra (mainly Pacaud & Sanchez) is its musical subsidiary. Their first appearance was an improvised 1-hour sound performance in the streets of Paris (entitled “The Justa Kidigan Doll and Teddy Hospital”), on June 1997. After this experience which gave birth to the D.S.O., Pacaud & Sanchez began to work on the making of several recordings. As they work most of the time separately, their music alternates between two main styles : cosmic ambiant moods with minimalist melodies and industrial loops “a la Boyd Rice”. More than 40 of these albums were produced at this day, but most of them were never officially released.

8 years after their inaugural public performance, they were invited to participate to the 2-days event “Un week-end sous Tempsion” at Le Point Ephémere, Paris, in May 2005 where they presented the “Gilles de la Tourette show”.
