Biography

Born: January 25, 1959

Styles: Black Gospel, Contemporary Gospel, Urban

Biography:
Donnie McClurkin is a gospel vocalist with the soul of Andraé Crouch and the contemporary flair of Kirk Franklin. Born into a home filled with domestic violence and drug abuse, McClurkin was saved by an aunt who sang background vocals with Crouch himself. After staying close to Crouch throughout his boyhood, he began to play piano and sing with his church youth choir. He formed the McClurkin Singers by the time he was a teenager, and later formed another group, the New York Restoration Choir.

Hired as an associate minister at Marvin Winans’ Perfecting Church in 1989, with his vocals during a seminar, McClurkin endured a bout with leukemia that year. A friendship with a Warner Alliance executive resulted in his signing to the label for his 1996 self-titled LP, with producers Mark Kibble (of Take 6), Cedric and Victor Maxwell plus Andraé Crouch. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide

Donnie McClurkin is a Gospel superstar whose voice is recognized around the world. His voice has already transcended the Sunday morning pulpit to the top of record charts where his music has remained steadfast while reaching gold and platinum status.

While on an airplane, God gave him the words for the song “Stand,” and, he says, in 20 minutes the words flowed inside his head. “How do you deal with the shame of your past…you stand,” he continues repeating the words.

McClurkin has been able to overcome and excel to the point that fans, celebrities and a cross section of music lovers recognize his talent as “special.”

I simply LOVE Donnie McClurkin. His songs are great, and he is a true man of God despite politics and sexual orientation.

"We fall down - but we get up .... For the Saint is just a Sinner who fell down and got up .... I fall down and through the power in the name of Jesus Christ and ..... The Power of the Holy Spirit - I get back up .... I am so imperfect - I have no time or authority to judge another's sin .... I will only answer for my own Soul and no one else's .... Jeusu Christ speaks of Love that not one of us will ever be ablle to completely comprehend .... I am such an imperfect Human Being - I have no time to judge another ... I know God the Father says to judge no one - we have no right ..... Judging will come from Jesus Christ .... I am too busy acknowledging my Sins and Imperfections ..... The Father - The Son and The Holy Spirit confirms that this is the right way .... Everytime I Sin ..... It's me - it's me oh Lord .... Standing in need of your Love, Protection, Grace, Mercy, Healing, Forgiveness and .... All the other undescribeable Blessings and Provisions that you provide ..

The apostle Paul wrote on this in Galations 5:19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. The word speaks for itself. No we can't judge. However if anyone continues in sin (the act of homosexuality is a form of sexual immorality) then there are grave dangers ahead.

Donnie McClurkin's songs touch my Soul ..... Maybe it is because he has spoken of himself ..... And once it is out there - it does not matter what anyone ..... Thinks of him, me, or any of us ...... Once we have admitted our sins to God and some need to admit publicly - no one can hurt you ..... No matter the struggle or sin - you have acknowledged .... To God and that is where it is ...... Keep on singing Donnie and the rest is between you and ... God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and .... God the Holy Spirit .....

Those who have not accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour of their lives, do not understand the Love of the Father and his Forgiving heart. Donnie's voice and life is anointed by the Lord and of the Lord. God has favor with Donnie, The steps of a good man are ordeth by the Lord thou he fall he shall not be cast down for the Lord up holds him with his hands.

I cannot stand this man's stance on homosexuality, it just makes me want to puke. He's the definition of self-denial and he wants to be a role model :/ So hypocritical... We have no lesson to receive from that guy. He compares homosexuality to diabete but he forgot homosexuality is not a disease.

The Creator loves all of us regardless of our sexual perferences or orientations ...... The Creator knows before any of us what our lives will be ...... The Creator even loves the individuals who are blind that they point fingers at others which should be pointed towards themselves ...... In Life we all are one thing or another or we do one thing or another ..... Donnie can still love God and be ...... I am glad that I know this TRUTH ...... We all have our sin ........ My God loves me and all of you - regardless of the mess we are in ............. Now let me go and continue to live my Life ......... Much Love to you ...... We fall down but we get up .........

So Beatnik24 you know Donnie personally then? I mean to know he's still gay, you must do. But why write it on here? Why not just tell him face to face?
