Don Dailey is a composer whose music has always had a leaning towards storytelling and almost programmatic music. Mr. Dailey says that he also works, “like a painter gradually building up layers of aural color and other times working more as a sculptor, starting with recorded improvisations and then carving away until the essential bits remain, which can be assembled into something cohesive.”

Mr. Dailey studied tuba and composition in college. During his formal education he was also exposed to to contemporary avant-garde and electronic music, with early influences of Igor Stravinsky, Iannis Xenakis, Morton Subotnick, and George Crumb that have been ongoing influences on his work.

In addition to his composition work, Mr. Dailey has also worked in the areas of sound design and patch building, with many banks of sounds for Absynth and Reaktor.
