60's 'Soul Clan' member and prolific songwriter Don Covay used the backing group name 'The Goodtimers' off and on between 1961 and 1967. The name appears on his Rosemart singles, as well as on his Atlantic single releases. His debut album for Atlantic "Mercy" in 1964 does not mention the Goodtimers by name in the artists credits and little information exists that says who they may have been.
