Now I understand why Tomas Haake loves Don Caballero so much.

Um... Damon does indeed use a double bass pedal. It's visible in practically every live video and all pictures of his kit.

BTW - so many people mistakenly assume Che uses a double kick pedal - not so. 1 foot on bass - 4 hands everywhere else

My fantasy: they recorded Don Cab 2 and just continued recording and realized they had enough for another album - but the guitar tones are so different (maybe the drums too) that I can't quite make myself believe it.

A great Caballero... only topped by Steve Caballero. is math rock a new tag? Or is it what the kids are calling syncopated music now? Either way, as a drummer i dig this. all 9 minutes of their rush timelined epic.

A great example of minimalist polyrhythmic sensibility in song composition

Does this start off with the same drum beat from the last track of Don Cab 2?
