Dolly Parton > Whitney Houston. But that should be obvious.

Whitney's voice is one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard and this song became a classic because of her, but Dolly also did a great job singing with more passion and feeling, although she doesn't have such powerful voice like Whitney's

Whitney never did anything for me. I know she has a good voice, but its so similar to so many other women out there. for a popstar, she had a good voice. Dolly however, sings with every ounce of her being in this song. very heartfelt, it was never meant to be a power ballad. its sweet, mellow and to the point. Whitney only screamed. and I wouldn't even put Whitney's voice on par with singers like Yolanda Adams, Mary J Blige, or Mariah Carey. Her voice is nothing special. Congrats to the most successful female country career ever Dolly! You are truly the queen of country alongside Patsy!!!!
