UFO's Strangers in the Night is my clear no. 1 all-time favorite live album, but this is one of the records that is definitely in contention for the #2 spot. It's one of those rare cases where I'd rather listen to a band's live album than their studio ones (taking nothing away from them, of course).

Muitas pessoas costumam comparar todas as bandas dos anos 80 como fossem todas iguais, principalmente quando elas têm seus cabelos laqueados e usam batom. Realmente não se deve esperar composições complexas cheias de adornos e rococós. O que se espera de uma banda como Dokken é rock, nada além disso, e nesse ponto a banda se destaca mesmo entre os lideres da sua geração como Motley Crue, Wasp e Poison. “Beast From The East” tem muita energia que muitas bandas concorrentes não conseguiram passar em seus álbuns ao vivo e ainda tem o plus de ter um dos mais originais guitarristas da época, George Lynch, que se mostra implacável nas faixas, principalmente em seu momento solo “Mr. Scary”. “Into The Fire”, “Alone Again” e “Breaking The Chains” e seus outros sucessos ficaram muito bem representadas e produzidas, apesar dos muitos overdubs feitos em estúdio, comum em qualquer álbum ao vivo, mas vezes ouço uns três ou quatro Don Dokkens ao mesmo tempo e isso pega mal.
