Sleepless in Dresden (29:20)
From The Art of Ambience and 1 other release
Sleepless in Dresden is a long and peaceful ambient song inspired by the Aria part of J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations. The legend has it that Bach composed the mentioned variations to Count Keiserling, the former Russian ambassador of Saxony, who suffered from insomnia and thereby ordered from Bach some peaceful clavier pieces to be played in nighttime by his private musician, Johann Gottleib Goldberg.
