Minor Swing is the track of his I'm most familiar with, and therefore also my favourite. (Note: Fully streamable on last.fm here, although not the 'classic' version. If you can't stream it, or would like to hear the classic version, it should also be available on youtube and is currently embedded on the song's last.fm page.)
As this is such an old track though, I'm unaware which album it originally appeared on. It's one of Django's best known works though, so it should be available on most retrospective compilations you can find of Reinhardt's work - however, if you liked Mattias IA Eklundh's cover of Smoke on the Water a couple of weeks back you can find an equally 'freaky' cover of this track on the same album (Freak Guitar: The Road Less Traveled).
Much like Tony Iommi, Reinhardt lost the use of two of his fingers (his third and fourth) early in his career due to a fire…
26 Oct 2008, 02:36 by MoogleFanI've been working on this playlist since around 2005 or so, using many of these songs in Halloween mixes at my house, for friends, at my former school, events, etc., etc., and often on shuffle at various times of the year. I'm sure there is still a lot missing here, so suggesting artists, albums, and tracks that are Halloween-suitable (or just good for spookiness, haunting introspection and/or dark-ish party music in general) is very much welcome. Even if they're from artists that I have on here, because, in all probability, I've missed some glaringly obvious ones. What's more, if you're a subscriber you can play all the streamable ones I've listed from my Halloween tag-station here: http://www.last.fm/listen/usertags/mooglefan/halloween

18 Sep 2008, 12:17 by Cassius_KSo, let me introduce you a UK band called Belleruche!
I was looking for good new stuff on Aurgasm Blog and, searching through the archive, I found this interesting british project!
Belleruche are Kathrin DeBoer (vocals), Ricky Fabulous (guitar) and DJ Modest (turntables); they define thierself as:
an handmade hip hop blues soul group, like Sarah Vaughan, Django Reinhardt and Cut Chemist stuck in a dusty second hand record store with rum and a sampler. The result is a wonderful and groovy sound that they called ] Turntable Soul Music as the name of their new album.
The name of the band was taken without any formal reason during a random search on the net that led Ricky Fabuolus to a memorial page of a New Zealand dog named "Belleruche", passed away accidentally, created by his misfortuned pet's owner...Read the whole story on the official Belleruche website!
The new album include Minor Swing,
a reinterpretation of the classic Minor Swing by Django Reinhardt.
11 Aug 2007, 00:43 by morphoeugeniaI've noticed that there are these movies which I feel indicate life in the American southwest has a romantic, life-is-one big-trailer-park theme to them. The southwest abounds with freaks, Hispanics and people with no teeth. It's great. And I think there should be a soundtrack to this the often gross oversimplification of my stroke inducing state, the big A.Z. Where the tumbleweeds, barbecue joints, mules, Honda Civics and meth addicts roam.
