In the ‘20s, in the roaring Paris of upcoming modernity, some gypsy musicians started to meet for free sessions in the caves of Montmartre.
The public was electrified by this new sound, and it soon got to the saloons of the upper ten.
There it rose into an absolutely new sound of swing elements melanged with traditional gypsy music.
