and yes the production is absolutely atrocious on this album. sometimes it doesn't hold up to consecutive repeat listens because of that. i wish there could be a remastered reissue like those earache reissues, but nuclear blast does not reissue their 90s albums.

Why does it say 2006? Is that a re-release or something like that? Cuz this album is from 1997..

Solid material, but I never could get quite into this one because of the shitty production ... It's nothing but distortion all over, the drums lack both power and weight (= it doesn't sound heavy, it sounds thin / flat.)

I think this is what they call melodic Death Metal, as opposed to Melodic Death Metal.

"I wonder if these guys will pull a Cryptopsy and become a Deathcore/Metalcore band. This album is DANGEROUSLY close to that." Uh, it's not close AT ALL. This album has a decent amount of great tracks.

Update: Well, looks like they got their act back together, considering their 2008 s/t slays.

I especially got my hopes up when I saw a song called "Trendkiller"... Looks like that's going the opposite way...

I wonder if these guys will pull a Cryptopsy and become a Deathcore/Metalcore band. This album is DANGEROUSLY close to that. It's still Death Metal, but only just. Too fluffy and melodic, this sounds like something scene kids might eventually eat up. Even the pure Death Metal parts are kind of boring. Sorry guys, I tried really hard to like this. Not for me.
