After the release of their first EP - “the Missing,” which was made of raw tracks never really meant to be a professional album, Jason Curtiss left the band due to creative differences. Left to their own devices, David Logan and Dave Williams decided to re-record the album dubbing the future release “the Lost Part II.” Their new sound went very heavy on the electronics, switching from their previous heavy rock with industrial undertones to a much more dark and industrial sound comparable to Marilyn Mansion, Nine Inch Nails, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, or Leather Strip.
In the summer of 2008, DOA released their first full album - “the Brighter Side of Terror” on Jamendo - a free Creative Commons only music service - claiming it to be a collection of b-sides from a forth coming album, “the Lost Part II.” A string of remixes came out every month after in the form of singles.
