Die verbannten Kinder Evas is an Austrian band combining the style of neoclassical dark wave music with gothic imagery. It was created by Richard Lederer (Protector) from black metal band called Summoning. Following their well-received debut album of March 1994, Die verbannten Kinder Evas returned after a two-year break with “Come Heavy Sleep.” Musically speaking, the recording remained true to their original sound, perhaps becoming more complex and more classical in style. In “In Darkness Let Me Dwell,” their third release, DVKE continue to make considerable use of their now trademark classical sound. Furthermore, the addition of Tania Borsky’s singing talents to Richard Lederer’s diverse vocal styles add color and contrast to the dark tracks typical of Die verbannten Kinder Evas, who signed to Napalm Records’ Draenor Productions in 1999.

Die verbannten Kinder Evas have released a CD named “Dusk And Void Became Alive” in November 2006, which features a new female singer named Christina.

I really like them, but there's a little thing that gets me about them. They have such good singers, so why are they working in an unknown gothy band, rather than doing opera sort of stuff? Also, is it just me that finds they're great to use to fall asleep to? Nice and calm, less angry than the rest of the stuff I listen to.

@ Ilariapaleone: haha! tagging this as Darkwave or Gothic would be quite silly, but at last Gothic would make a slight bit more sense than Dark Ambient. In fact, Die verbannten Kinder Evas should get stuffed into any of your silly little genres. More than anything else, the style of the music reminds me of popular music from the 16th and 17th centuries
