Biography
Zeist, Netherlands (1997 – present)
There are multiple artists bearing the name Detonation:
1) Detonation is a melodic death metal and arguably thrash metal influenced band from Zeist, Netherlands, originally formed as Infernal Dream in 1997 by Koen Romeijn (vocals, guitar), Thomas Kalksma (drums) and Mike Ferguson (guitar). They’ve so far released three full-length albums, “An Epic Defiance” (2003), “Portals to Uphobia” (2005) and most recently “Emission Phase” (2007), one EP “Lost Euphoria” (2000) and one promo (2001).
In late 2009 and early 2010 the band recorded their 4th album “Reprisal”, due for release later in 2011 as soon as they find a new record label.
In the autumn of 2010 Danny Tunker, Michiel van der Plicht and Otto Schimmelpenninck left the band due to lack of time.
The band is on hold since November 2011. After long consideration they have decided to take a break from Detonation.
