Biography

Zeist, Netherlands (1997 – present)

There are multiple artists bearing the name Detonation:

1) Detonation is a and arguably influenced band from Zeist, Netherlands, originally formed as Infernal Dream in 1997 by Koen Romeijn (vocals, guitar), Thomas Kalksma (drums) and Mike Ferguson (guitar). They’ve so far released three full-length albums, “An Epic Defiance” (2003), “Portals to Uphobia” (2005) and most recently “Emission Phase” (2007), one EP “Lost Euphoria” (2000) and one promo (2001).

In late 2009 and early 2010 the band recorded their 4th album “Reprisal”, due for release later in 2011 as soon as they find a new record label.

In the autumn of 2010 Danny Tunker, Michiel van der Plicht and Otto Schimmelpenninck left the band due to lack of time.

The band is on hold since November 2011. After long consideration they have decided to take a break from Detonation.

I think Reprisal sounds like Opeth with Björn Strid from Soilwork covering Lamb of God

Can somebody explain to me why people consider this to be thrash metal? Thrash metal riffs are few and far between, there're no mid-range vocals and there're way too many blast beats for this to be thrash metal. In my opinion, there's NOTHING thrash metal about these guys. People should really stop brainlessly repeating each other.

i have to agree with you @moonsorrow1992. Emission Phase was very well done, and while this album is good, i think its less polished as well.
