Leader of the London Bulgarian Choir, formerly of the Philip Koutev Ensemble.
Performer with Izvor (London), Dunav, Joglaresa, Village Harmony, British Sea Power, Balkan Beat Box. Featured vocalist on recordings with Joglaresa, Balkan Beat Box, Oi Va Voi, and The Ailerons.
Dessi has been a soloist on numerous soundtracks for Warner Brothers, Miramax, 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney, the BBC and HBO, including The Brothers Grimm, Elizabeth the Virgin Queen, Troy, Ghost Ship, Atlantis and Borat. She is frequently consulted on sources and authenticity of Bulgarian music, working with producers from the BBC, composers Gabriel Yared, James Horner, Dario Marianelli, and Jocelyn Pook.
She also performs with storytelling group A Spell in Time.
