With their debut release “Through the Eyes of the Burdened”, Descend bursts onto the scene with an album that is as hard hitting as it is diverse. The songs are crafted and performed with expert musicianship, combining technical brilliance with strong song writing skills. From the opening acoustic mood setter “Ascend to Obscurity” to heavy riff-fests such as “The Life Delusion” or “A Sudden Sense of Clarity”, Descend shows in every way possible that the band is a force to consider in the modern metal scene of today.

“We really wanted to make an album that feels like a unity”, guitarist and founding member Andreas Lindström explains. “I think we managed to make music that is dynamic and keeps the listener interested, while not losing the impact in the songs”.

While their roots are in death metal leaning to the progressive side, Descend is not just about brute force. They switch seamlessly between heavy riffs and growled vocals, to delicate acoustic grooves and memorable melodies. The music always comes first and when it comes to Descend, it shines with variety and tasteful dynamics.

“We all love metal”, drummer Jonathan Persson says, “but at the same time we love to experiment and take influences from other styles as well”.
