There are multiple artists named Dennis Wilson:

1) American singer-songwriter, musician; founding member of The Beach Boys.
2) British composer.

1) Dennis Carl Wilson (December 4, 1944 - December 28, 1983) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician, best known as one of the founding members of The Beach Boys alongside brothers Brian and Carl. The group’s drummer and occasional lead singer for much of his life, easily recognized by his bluesy and raspy voice, he later grew to become a gifted songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His only solo album, Pacific Ocean Blue (1977), is regarded as perhaps the finest Beach Boys solo recording.

Born in Hawthorne, California to Murry and Audree Wilson, Dennis Wilson was the Wilsons’ middle child, and a self-affirmed “black sheep.” A rebel from a young age, he was constantly at odds with his domineering father Murry, and would, as a consequence, be the one to suffer most from his abusive parenting techniques. As a teenager, Dennis became enamored with the burgeoning surfing scene; when the group that would become The Beach Boys was first formed, it was at Dennis’ suggestion that they decided to capitalize on what would in short time become a national phenomenon. Thus, the idyllic notion of sun, surf, and sand that has become emblematic of the state of California, can, by and large, be attributed to the group’s impending nationwide and international success, foreseen by Dennis.

pacific ocean blue is the best solo work among post beach boys efforts from his brothers and cousins including brian's smile. Absolute cult classic and if u think about what a miserable life he had after beach boys, his work should gain more recognition. IMO he had the potential to produce better works than Brian if he had lived till this day

On December 28, 1983, shortly after his 39th birthday, Wilson drowned at Marina Del Rey, Los Angeles, after drinking all day and diving in the afternoon to recover items he had thrown overboard at the marina from his yacht three years prior. Dennis Wilson's body was buried at sea off the California coast (coordinates 33° 53.9 N, 118° 38.8 W) by the U.S. Coast Guard on January 4, 1984. His song "Farewell My Friend" was played at the funeral

BAMBU (not Bamboo) was never released, so technically speaking there's no album that could be scrobbled as BAMBU. Who knows if all the tracks on the 2nd disc of the set would have ended up on BAMBU? I'm scrobbling the 2nd disc as "Pacific Ocean Blue & Bambu - 2 CD Deluxe Legacy Edition" (as suggested by 1st disc I'm scrobbling as "Pacific Ocean Blue", of course (since that LP really exists).

Wish he still had of pursued some solo work in the 5-7 years leading up until his depth, seems he lost some heart for it and was also distracted by other things. POB is a masterpiece and I say that with absolutely 0 trepidation about the gravity of the aforementioned statement!

Does anyone know the correct album tag for the second disk of the 30th anniversary edition of Pacific Blue Ocean? Can I just call it Bambu?
