Thomas Hagge (guitar) and Marcus Hjelmborg (bass) joined the two…and so Delicia Mini was born…
Their debut album “Skuggi”, which means “shadow” in Icelandic and was the name of a farm placed - alone - on the wrong side of the main street in Reykjavik 200 years ago, mixes early 60’s surf, ompa beats and cinematic wide sound. Alongside Eggertsson’s brilliant anti-singing voice in front, it is not the easiest of mixes, but they really managed to push the boundaries for what Danish Radio usually is able to present. The album opener “Back To Pieces” was chosen single of the week and the song “Pull the Trees Down” went number 1 on the influential alternative chart. In other words: Delicia Mini’s queer musical universe seems to bring out the best in people.
The album is produced by Anders Pedersen and Jakob Berthelsen. Anders plays in Giant Sand and Jakob has produced Howe Gelb, Giant Sand and Under Byen, and this odd mixture of bands is openly visible in the kind of geyser rock which has become a trademark of Delicia Mini.
