Delbert McClinton is a blues musician born 4 November 1940, in Lubbock, Texas. He honed his craft working in a bar band, The Straitjackets, backing visiting blues giants such as Sonny Boy Williamson II, Howlin' Wolf, Lightnin' Hopkins, and Jimmy Reed. He made his first recordings as a member of the Ron-Dels and was noted for his distinctive harmonica work on Bruce Channel's 1962 hit "Hey Baby".     I recently picked up Acquired taste ,his 09 release and I love it . Its got a great vibe to where I'm at . Lot's of bluesy heartbreak woman done wrong songs,alittle like john prine sounds too I still love the older one too , I'll see him 6/30 @ foxboro ma. FINALLY!!!

    He's really great!! I'd love to see him LIVE again, but Austin has changed soo much from the late 70's. We sure did have fun at the Armidillo, The Opera House and the BackStage, and of course the continental club. My but I miss those clubs and the greaT MUSIC THAT CAME THROUGH THEM.
