About this album

Scars of the Crucifix is the seventh studio album by American band Deicide, released in February 2004 and their first album under new label Earache Records. The track Scars of the Crucifix spawned their first ever music video, filmed in Nottingham. This was also the last album to feature the Hoffman brothers on guitar, after their 17-year tenure with the group.

Almost laughed aloud to the solo. Grim atmosphere and quite good riffing broken up with a solo, which seems to be snatched straight from Winnie The Pooh or similar children's show, haha.

One of their worst releases. But they would make up for it with "The Stench of Redemption". "Conquered by Sodom" is a good song, the rest is just mediocre at best.

Glens vocals sound so good on this Album, well, the double-vocals do (Scars of the Crucifix and Go now your Lord is Dead mainly). To bad it's weak musically compared to the next two Albums. I much prefer his work in Vital Remains...

The overall album is average, but there are three very awesome songs on this album "Scars of the Crucifix", "Mad At God" and "Fuck Your God".
