When I was younger, so much younger than today
Never needed anybody's help in any way
But now these days have gone I'm not so self assured
Now I find I've changed my mind, opened up the door

Listening to the debut album "Shades Of Deep Purple" released in July 1968. Struck pay dirt in the USA but generally panned in the UK as the poor mans Vanilla Fudge. Song by John Lennon & Paul McCartney.

Lennon apparently liked this more than the Beatles' version and said they should've performed it this way to begin with.

It was almost released as a single instead of "Hush" which proved defining for the group

Anyone remember The Clangers? Does the oprning sound familiar? The rest of it seems as if I've heard it before also. Seriously though, Clangers+The Beatles+Deep Purple=Great Track.
