Decapitated is a technical death metal band from Poland. They formed in 1996 in Krosno in southern Poland, when all the members were still attending music school.

They released their first demo Cemeterial Gardens in 1997 and their second demo, The Eye of Horus in 1998. After these releases, the band was considered as genuine contenders of the underground metal community, and eventually signed with Wicked World/Earache Records for the release of the debut album, Winds of Creation.

I saw them like three days ago and it was just fantastic. I have to admit, I love the last two records and I love Meshuggah. Although I think they differ a lot from Meshuggah. Blood Mantra is much influenced by hardcore and fast tempo playing than most of Meshuggah stuff.

I've been a fan of Decapitated for years. I think their best albums are Nihility and Organic Hallucinosis. I was not into Carnival is Forever. Blood Mantra is okay.

I was at their show on 19th December, they played great, but the setlist relied heavily on new stuff which obviously turned some people off, not me, but I kinda do wish they had played The Fury or Lying and Weak. What bugs me, though, that the crowd went absolutely nuts and they played only one encore for us, just like for the other cities on the tour. Even Rasta said from the stage that the crowd's reaction was better than at the previous concert in Wrocław, and that metal exists for concerts like this. So I wish they would have rewarded us with an extra song or two instead of the same 1 song encore as on all the other shows. Their headline set is too short, 70 minutes I think. 90 minutes would be great, this seems to be the standard at headline shows too.
