Biography

What people say about Debs Music:

‘…actually very beautiful, haunting and other worldly…I am a fan of what she is doing’
Simon Raymonde, Bella Union Records

‘Warm and engaging music from an exceptional musician and visual artist…the result is both fascinating and painfully honest…I recommend checking out www.debsmccoy.com for more of that music and to check out some of the outstanding visual images in her gallery.’ Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6 Music

‘Singer songwriters have it quite hard really, usually one person with an acoustic guitar, the possibilities aren’t really endless, are they? Thankfully though, from time to time someone like Debs McCoy will come along, make your ears prick up - and make you think that there is still life in the genre yet.’
Simon Poole, Silent Radio & Writer for Tom Robinson’s FOTN

‘Quiver lipped acoustic folk from Newcastle’ Time Out, London

‘Debs’ music is intimately poetic, minimally produced and wonderfully sung; a great way to start this rainy Sunday morning’
Allan Coberly, WRIR Radio, USA
