There was a time when broken hearts and broken dreams were over
There was a place, where all you could do was wish on a four leaf clover
But now is a new time, there is a new place, where dreams
Just can't come true, it started the day when I left you, oh

Cool night vista of NYC in the beginning, and Miss Gibson looks beautiful throughout the clip. Emotional song!

Debbie Gibson became the youngest artist (18) to write, produce, and sing her own Billboard Hot 100 number one song with 'Foolish Beat.' She did it again 2 years later with 'Lost In Your Eyes.' Taylor Swift wasn't even born when Debbie Gibson was writing her own songs & setting chart records; can Debbie get a soul clap or something?? lol.

I ran out of time on my comment. :< Anyway, wanted to say Debbie's greatest weakness and probably why she failed in music biz is her voice is crap, as it's noticably thin. Lots of thin voiced or mediocre singers fail-her, Tiffany, and Paula Abdul for example. But some thin voiced and mediocre singers have the savvy to succeed like Britney and Jennifer Lopez. 8>

this...doesn't sound like the album version, it definitely sounds like an arrangement of it. It's a great song. Wow, I never thought it sounded similar to Careless Whisper. You have a point, but I thought Debbie Gibson wrote good original pop songs, and wasn't a thief of other pop artists at the same time. Have to think about that. 8 3 Yeah she was hypocritical, saying she wanted to make it on her own, but she still ended up doing the sexy slutty road like Britney and Christina had to do later. She was desperate. It's rather sad she and Tiffany couldn't endure in the music biz. :/

she's as beautiful today as she was in the 80's yeah i'd agree sounds heavely sampled from careless whispers.
