@ 1:02 - Isaac Brock? I've thought so for years, but it'd be nice to get a confirmation. P.S. Tenyeartryst, you must realize that the lead singer/primary composer/songwriter of DCFC is the same for Postal Service, right? So yeah, that's why they would sound uncannily similar.

I can understand Gibbard not really liking it. It does border on cringe, but Death Cab do enough to make it awesome anyway.

@funkydory89 yeah. Found this on songfacts: "In an interview with the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Ben Gibbard explained that when he wrote this song, he did not like it. He brought it to the band expecting it to get discarded, but guitarist Chris Walla demanded it go on the album. A good decision, as it has since become one of their more popular singles." I definitely love this song now - it's one of the more extreme versions of the 'happy music/sad lyrics' thing Death Cab does pretty well.

didn't the lead singer say in some interview this is the only song he's not very proud of?

'As much as I'll try, I'll never time those handclaps correctly. Those are some complex handclap signatures.' This. <3
