There are at least 8 bands that use the name Deadlock:

1. Deadlock are a German band that combine metal with the harsh atmospheric nature of today’s modern sounds.

Founded in the later half of 1997, Deadlock took their time to find a solid line-up and the right attitude towards cultivating a sound all their own. After their first self-titled 7 Inch was released, the band gained further attention with their MCD “I’ll Wake You When Spring Awakes”. The quintet started to include keyboards and clean female vocals to their songs during the period of their release “The Arrival. ” This period saw Deadlock reach new levels, while establishing their own brutal and blistering metal-sound. In 2003 the split release with Six Reasons To Kill proved the band’s ability to develop their skills to a higher level. Deadlock’s Lifeforce Records debut Earth.Revolt was well received among press and fans alike, because of its balanced mixture of fast and virtuous guitar work, their slowed-down atmospheric parts as well as the strong connection between music and lyrics.

Since the band’s 2005 Lifeforce Records debut Earth.Revolt a lot has happened to further their sound and character. After more than six years of collaborations with vocalist Sabine Weniger (previously in a part-time capacity), 2006 saw her angelic voice and presence become a permanent fixture in the Deadlock member ranks. The full time addition of Sabine helped to invigorate and strengthen the band’s outlook, creatively and musically.

V Just barely. Honestly, they finally got rid of probably THE worst harsh vocalist in all of Metal, finally having the chance to get someone that is actually good... and then they get someone who is almost just as bad? What the hell, Deadlock? You don goof'd.

The harsh vocals are somewhat lame, but they really grow on you. The new harsh vocalist is at least better than the previous one.

Sabine is pretty much the only merit this band has apart from its name.

''She hasn't any talent''... OMFG! So, wtf about you? What a fuckin stupid post.

Seriously, Sabine has no talent? You gotta be fucking kidding me... You guys should really keep move with the times and be happy that there are still some bands out there who don't want to make the same album over and over again. For me, that's pretty much what modern metal is about.

Prem actually did a great job at deadlock. not listening to them anyway anymore, but he was one of the main reasons to like this band. within the last two albums they became more and more focused on the female vocalist with the consequence that the songs became shit, because - to be honest- she hasn't any talent. really. new album ist quite boring.better split up. thanks, but goodbye, deadlock!

If he's one of the worst harsh vocalists in all of metal, just stop listening.

So Deadlock had one of the worst harsh vocalists in all of Metal. Then they finally get rid of him and have a chance at getting someone to replace him that's actually good... and they pick someone who's almost just as bad. Seriously, Deadlock, what the hell?

They've really lost their edge on this release... I can't even remember anything from the album and I just finished it.

Finally got the new album, it's quite good actually. I was mostly looking forward to the remixes on the digipack and sadly both of them didn't really deliver. Dead City Sleepers (Erode-Remix) is really good but the second one, what the hell? Now really, you don't even recognize the song. It's just too different and the main flaw of the album.. IMO.

Great tracks: The Great Pretender, I'm Gone, The Arsonist, Darkness Divine, As We Come Undone, My Pain, Small Town Boy. Others are good but not special. My Pain shouldn't have been a bonus track. It's one of the best. The remixes are of course useless..

New album. Their best yet. Though Wolves is also really amazing. Also I have learned to love Bizarro World.

Wolves = Masterpiece, everything else is simply decent, Arsonist included, Wolves is Deadlocks contribution to the metal zeitgeist.

I'm only on the 4th song, but so far realllllly not liking the new guitar tuning. Doesn't fit with the rest of the band's style in my opinion. Just makes the riffs sound bad. Also not a fan of the new harsh vocalist...wasn't a fan of the last one either, but even less for this one. Ugh. Hope the rest of the album gets better.
