Dead Congregation

Athínai, Greece (2004 – present)

Formed in 2004 in Athens, Greece, Dead Congregation focus on lacking aspects in today’s death metal bands/releases: feeling, spirit, atmosphere and quality. Creating darkness and blasphemy is their only goal…

The debut release, ‘Purifying Consecrated Ground’, has received great feedback from all over the world yet it is only a stepping-stone for what’s to come. Totally praised for their live performance, Dead Congregation has shared stage with some of the best bands of the genre (Antaeus, Watain and Kaamos…). Their long-expected first album, entitled “Graves of the Archangels” is now out on Nuclear War Now! Productions. Up to the expectations, their first album is merciless, flawless, and the atmosphere is overwhelming, occult.

This is connecting with my neck in a more direct way than Grave Miasma and Cruciamentum.

I hear a little bit of Mayhem there (in some Promulgation of the Fall songs). Awesome album nevertheless.

Promulgation is the better album. It's more varied but it also comes together really well as a whole.

I'm actually enjoying Promulgation a bit more than Graves for some reason.

"has massive influences and similarities to incantation's diabolical conquest" - imo, there is more from Mortal Throne of Nazarene than DC, but in the end, both albums has silmilar concept.

"just a typical revival OSDM mix" - It is, but: "that would hardly compensate for mediocre songwriting" - it does not compensate for anything, it just makes it out to be something that it's not.
