    @etherealbylar, given the medieval tone of the song, my guess is the promised womb refers to the Virgin Mary...however, I like Anoxi's idea on Semele personally. :)

    @etherealbylar: perhaps its a reference to Semele in Greek mythology. Semele was a mortal woman who procreated with Zeus... consequently she harboured the divine Dionysus. She therefore had the divine or 'promised' womb

    What's the topic she sings about? Like she coudn't have the child that was promised? I know Lisa sings in "tongues" but I wonder if this song has a special dedication.
