Biography

Dawn Of Solace was an unborn twin to Before the Dawn until Tuomas Saukkonen started the writing process for the third Before The Dawn album “The Ghost” in 2005. With over 30 written songs, it was clear that one normal album would not be enough.

The first plan was to make a double album for Before The Dawn, but some of the material was slower, more melodic and darker than the songs chosen for The Ghost and Saukkonen wanted to take that a bit further without any limitations that Before The Dawn might create since Saukkonen has a very clear vision about how he wants Before The Dawn to sound now and in the future.

Dawn Of Solace was born not to compete with Before The Dawn, but to complete what Saukkonen needed to say with notes and words; ”Dawn Of Solace is like the darker side of me. Both bands reflect my heart, soul and thoughts, but Dawn Of Solace goes deeper into my darkness, one minute beyond 4:17 am and creates a reflection to the ghost of me.”

After Tuomas Saukkonen’s decision to split-up all projects and bands, Dawn of Solace also split-up in january 2013, along with Before the Dawn, Black Sun Aeon, The Final Harvest and RoutaSielu .
