Biography

Dawn of Ashes was an American / band founded in 2001 from Los Angeles, California, United States. The band’s style consisted of horror-based lyrical and visual themes presented through industrial and melodic black metal structures. Dawn of Ashes had an evolution which strongly resembled that of contemporary Norwegian music act Mortiis, with three distinct phases of the band. Both acts progressed from a strictly electronic to metal/electronic based musical form.

Kristof Bathory ended Dawn of Ashes in 2014. The three remaining members have moved on to a new project named Urilia.

The name Dawn of Ashes is an allegorical metaphor meaning “beginning of the end.”
