    Besides rendering many well defined compositions as Santaru mentioned, his improvs are well defined also. Sometimes his tone reminds me of Albert Ayler. He also gets into that harmolodic thing with Blood Ulmer in Music Revelation Society. Great stuff if you are into that sort of sound. A lot of great Black Saint recordings. His live big band knocks you off your feet.

    David Murray is an amazing improviser I like him best when the compositions are more defined you gotta listen to a wide range of his music to appreciate his genius.
