David Connell is an acoustic guitarist and musician who grew up in his hometown of Geraldton, Western Australia. He began playing the bass guitar at the age of 8 developing many techniques known to the fingerstyle guitar world. learning self-taught. At age 9 he was introduced to the guitar and began playing worship songs in church. In autumn of 2008, David moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where he met fingerstyle guitar artist, Dave Wike. Being greatly inspired, he began writing his own music solely with the acoustic guitar, recording his first demo cd with nothing but a hand held mic at age 13. His musical influences include Devotional Soaking music, a range of guitar work in the post-rock genre, and popular icons such as Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour, and Michael Hedges. He uses the idea of his songs as illustrations, Creating his own unique expression of art.
David since then has released 2 albums to date: To Where Love Never Dies (2010), In the Midst of Hope (2012).
