I Write The Songs (4:06)

Cover of Could It Be Forever...The Greatest Hits

From Could It Be Forever...The Greatest Hits and 12 other releases

RCA Victor released this in the UK as a single for David Cassidy in 1975 where it became a hit worldwide (but wasn’t available in the USA). The folks at RCA Victor didn’t consider the record could be a hit in the USA. It was passed to Barry Manilow and became Manilow’s theme song. But this is the original 70s artist who recorded I Write the Songs

The original hit across the world except the USA in 1975 by David Cassidy. RCA Victor didn't think the song would be a hit in the USA and gave it away to Barry Manilow - big mistake, huge - it became Manilow's theme song. But this is the original 70s hit and the best by far - ask DC fans! LOL
