Biography

David Cain & SENSES

Cool, funky, rockin, jazzy, soulful and sweet! Ah yes, time to savor the new 12 course gourmet meal being served up by David Cain & SENSES: red-hot and always delicious. On their second release for UMEDIA Records, David Cain & SENSES offers up a series of soul-drenched entrées, simmering out their funk-infused jazz, rock & bop, which people have been trying to label forever. The best advice is to forget the labels and enjoy the gourmet meal; its simply their sound, savory and addictively delicious.

David says, “A whole new meaning of the phrase ‘red-hot’ became real for me when I woke up in an inspired cold-sweat on March 2nd, 1984. I called up a friend of mine and said, I want you to paint my sax candy-apple red! He did. Now it’s my trademark. It symbolizes the passion that music brings to my life & that I bring to my music as well.”

It’s there all right, along with a Grammy nomination, numerous featured artist recognitions and thousands of worldwide units later, David Cain & SENSES is releasing its most intoxicating album ever: Want & Need. Recorded at UMEDIA studios in the Hoogland Center for the Arts - David Cain (resident artist, sax, vocals, synths, formerly on the roster of Geffen records…) teams up with virtuoso musicians: David Hoffman (trumpet) who played with Ray Charles for 12+ years as soloist and arranger; Howard Freitag (guitar & guitar synth); Jeff Cunningham (basses); Mike Newberry (electronic drums) to make a record that you don’t want to miss.
