"This guy will play even w. David Hasselhoff if given enough $." Let's see, in 2008 he and Eno released "Everything That Happens" and more recently he recorded and toured with St. Vincent. Aside from that, he has collaborated with Tom Ze and has brought bands like Os Mutantes to a North American audience via his record label. Feelings, in the 90s, was recorded with members of Morcheeba and Devo, and he put a vocal track down for Anna Calvi about a year ago. Now I don't even care for much of his solo output, but not because he "sold out." In fact, his output is not exactly a model of market-tested slickness and exhibits a willingness to mix things up and experiment rather freely. He's done some great work (my favorite is 1981soundtrack for Twyla Tharp's Catherine Wheel, arguably up there with the best of the T Heads). Anyway, I think he's got integrity as an artist even if much of his solo output is uneven.
