The strings in the original version are beautiful, yet somewhat sinister. It's a beautiful blend of perfect.

I absolutely love the earlier version. For some reason the Aladdin Sane doesn't hit the spot the way the one with Bolan does. [2]

just listened to the aladdin sane version.. and the guitar solo immediately grabbed me by my soul and shook me in a forceful yet blissful way, rendering me powerless to its pleasures. if there's a version somewhere with M. Bolan, I definitely must find it. such a perfect, beautiful song.

The first version (with M.Bolan on the guitar) has such a great atmosphere... this guitar is just.. aah so real, so moving.... I can listen to it again and again... The version from Aladdin Sane (with Ronson on the guitar) is great too but I think that first is much more touching... and I love that warm, Fender sound on it....

This is one of those songs I'd love to learn to play, no matter with what instrument! If I only could play anything else than my mouth...
