The Human Abstract saw its original US release under Capitol on the album "Songs of Experience" which followed his debut album, "Songs of Innocence." Both are inspired and named from William Blake's collections of poetry which were also released consecutively.
The album has been described by some as "a suite that blends pop, rock, jazz, theater music, and R&B"
