Sun 5 Aug – Dave Matthews Band, Xavier Rudd
I always enjoy the DMB even though they are not high on my last.fm lists. I listen to them a lot off the computer, in the car, in the kitchen. Can't scrobble the boom box on top of the microwave.
We got there late, missed 99% of Xavier Rudd
, which was too bad. I was interested in hearing the guy. I did buy one of the CDs, which I have not really listened to yet.
The place was a mob scene, which is normal for these shows I guess. When we were on the West Coast, the scene was much mellower with far fewer drunk teenagers making idiots of themselves. Ah well, that's one sign of being old I guess.
The stage set-up was pretty fancy, a lot of high tech stuff hanging around. There were giant screens behind the band that they used to show the band to the people in the cheap seats. They did not do much by way of using those to complement songs though, which I wish they did rather than show a shot of Boyd that was 60 feet tall. …
