Before Dave Grohl, there was Chad Channing. The original Nirvana drummer - who was on hand for the writing of "About A Girl" and the recording of "Polly" - recalls introducing Kurt Cobain to David Bowie, and tells us what he really thinks of the Foo Fighter who replaced him: http://www.songfacts.com/blog/interviews/chad_channing_nirvana_before_cars_/
We did a feature on who should replace the Pope yesterday, and Dave was on the list. Come and check it out!
@Hush, I disagree, Kurt was the structure of the band, he wrote mostly everything on Nevermind, the dramatic sound change is thanks to Dave, but more so to the studio than anyone else, Kurt sold out (In a less derogatory way). But Dave is a fucking brilliant musician, and Nirvana wouldn't of gotten anywhere close to where they did without him. So yeah, I guess you're right.
have to agree that grohl has more talent then kurt, however... kurt was so unique, such a icon and his music has that certain charm that no one else can or will ever get close too! that said i do love foo fighters alot!
